Lauren Lowe of Asian Americans United and Writers Room at Drexel will visit to discuss "Crossing Streets: Parallels and Promise in Chinatown and West Philadelphia," an oral history project currently in progress. Lauren is a queer, half-Chinese organizer and writer rooted in Philadelphia's Chinatown community. She came to Asian Americans United through the "No Arena" campaign and has a longstanding commitment to advocacy and community organizing. Previously at Writers Room in West Philly, she authored a chapbook on her family history and redevelopment in Chinatown. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU.
